Project: LEARN of Medina County thanks the 160 runners and 44 zombies for participating in today’s 3rd Annual Run for Your Life Zombie Run at Buckeye Woods Park. This year’s race, which began at the spooky time of 4pm on October 18th, had runners traversing a 5K course through the park while avoiding wandering bands of zombies. The zombies were attempting to steal the runners’ life flags (caution tape attached to the backs of the runners) at various points on the course. Runners were trying to get to the finish line with at least one “life” intact…but few survived the zombie apocalypse.

Zombie makeup help was provided courtesy of Project: LEARN volunteers. Volunteers also served as “Corpse Marshals,” making sure no runners lost their way on the spooky course through the woods. After the finish, runners enjoyed free healthy snacks of bananas, apples, granola bars, and water. Chiropractic Spine Center even provided free chair massages after the race to both runners and the tired zombies who were worn out from all that stumbling and running.

Project: LEARN is extremely grateful for the support of our sponsors for today’s race: The Post Newspapers, C:Dox Marketing & Apparel, Cool Beans Cafe, A Cupcake A Day, The Raspberry and the Rose, Dunn-Right Custom Carpet Cleaning, Oak Ridge Farm and Floral, Mapleside Farms, Chiropractic Spine Center, The Ward Family and The Koch Family.
